so we managed to drive through nothingness to indianapolis (seriously am still shocked that viv agreed to go to such a 'plain' place) it actually took a lot less time than i expected...when we finally arrived at our hotel and we had plenty of time to prepare...but in the middle of lunch i check my cell again and it says eastern time so i start freaking out...yup we thought we were still in central time zone and it was eastern time so we barely made it to the wedding...second part being my fault since the directions were not labeled clearly and we drove to the reception hall first before realizing we could have walked to the chapel, right across from the rca dome...in fact we arrived just to see the 'you may kiss the bride' part...i'm like so sorry doug~ if you ever find this blog, feel free to come and yell at me...so the wedding was a lot nicer than i had expected although the color scheme-black and white was not one most people would have chose. there was open bar for the entire time and a really nice cake and dj...besides a small shock in the father of the bride speech, it was a really nice reception...met wendy and jess from chien tan 96; oh the memories of my crazy summer~ seriously, if my kid ever did half the things we did, i'd have a heart attack...
anyways, i think the highlight of the reception was the entrance of the purdue mascot -some tiger or something and then the introduction of the whole wedding party, who proceeded to huddle like in a football game...it was hilarious and really set a happy tone. actually they had dinner-chicken which was unexpected since the invite only said reception and didn't offer a choice for dinner (vegetarians not welcome i guess) when we finally left, we told the other girls (two of whom had the same birthday as viv!) we were going to see a movie but really it was just a bit awkward to party with a whole group of people we didn't know...so after relaxing a bit, we went out and walked a bit - found a really cool chocolate ice cream place. i got an amazing sundae but viv wasn't that happy w/hers cause half of it melted before she got to eat it. but i still think she should have fond memories of the place since she left her wallet there and when we went to get it, it was still there! yup that's indianapolis for you...let's see, other than that, we grabbed some take out pf chang's for viv (yah, i had never heard of this chinese chain restaurant either) and proceeded to crash at the hotel...
